Today was the day!!! It came at a rather awful time but we started and it happened and it was good!!! Lucy is in 8th and Alice is in 6th. I have been so very excited about spending this time with them and can't wait to do all of the things that have been swirling in my head for all these months. Today, we started with our 'morning basket'...Journey through the Bible, hymn study from Then Sings My Soul and our Scripture Memory Box of verses. Then, we played a 5 song playlist to complete our 'readies' to...made the bed, brushed teeth, got dressed, tidied rooms/bathrooms and started laundry. We ended with the Hymn we talked about 'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus. As it finished, they met me for Math. Then, for English, we ran to the library for books and while we were out, grabbed ChickFilA. After we got back, we had our "Feet Up" time as I read our read aloud, The Penderwicks. Then, we ended with a little Art as we decorated our Art Notebooks and listened to some classical music. It was a fun and full day...I think they liked it:) I can't wait for tomorrow. (9:45-2:30)
Lots on my mind these days. So, I felt like writing would be good for the soul. I'm at a point that I wish I could make time stop and be forever in the middle of Summer, an endless summer. Not that I hate spring and fall...I can see the benefit and necessity of winter as well...Ive been there many times, in fact...it has its value. But summer...how I wish for an endless summer. Wind in my hair, sun on my face, chickens talking, zinnias bursting with unique personality, hummingbirds swarming, gentle breeze, sweat dripping, hot, mowing, singing to the top of my lungs in to the wind and anyone in earshot but I don't care, because I feel so free...on the porch, admiring God's artistry in the sunset He has painted just for me. Can you believe He does this...for us?? He's so good. These are just a few of the things that I love. Endless Summer hydrangeas are another one of my favorite things, and ironically, they 'end' around July, first of August and that's ...
